Big night out
So tonight was a big night out. Down to London to be crowned king. And to watch half man half biscuit too. I never really watch any live bands apart from the fall. It’s true we only watch the fall live. everything else is a bit not worth it. But half man half biscuit never ever make it to london and I love them so, so I thought I’d make the effort. Bang in the middle of the forum and the first thing notice is that hmhb play all their hits. All the old songs, dukla Prague away kit. Perhaps the saddest song ever written. All about never ever growing up. Because you could never
Get a job. When I think of this song I think of my mates brother, who was doing a paper round a 18 and the cunt who laughed at him. Yes I am talking about you , cunty bollocks. But tonight I realize what half man and half biscuit are all about, being cleverer than the situation your in.
Been there most of my life. At school I learnt how to fake it, be a moron like the rest of the idiots. You can romanticize it, pretend it was this great working class childhood but the reality was they could smell it off you when you were 5 years old and they wouldn’t piss on you if you were on fire. Then . Then you get to work and you roll with it out. Fake that u don’t see through all the short term bullshitt,
But what I learnt today was this. If hmhb are about being cleverer than the situation your are in , the fall are more than that. They are about realizing that clever is being nothing because the world was never here.
